Chaz Bono-The Dancing With The Stars Controversy

Despite the huge controversy surrounding Chaz Bono’s addition to Dancing With The Stars, the producers still insist it is a family show. Conservative media groups and many of the shows fans beg to differ. Chaz Bono was born a female and underwent a complete gender change to male and this past week was announced to be one of the newest twelve competitors on Dancing With The Stars that premieres at the end of September.
The media is really having a field day with this decision. Since the reveal of the new cast the media has really been in an uproar over his casting on this family friendly show. Some people and groups have requested boycotting the show saying that it is completely unacceptable and Christians should not be subjected to this type of nonsense. As a family oriented show, Dancing With The Stars is getting negative reviews about this issue saying the producers have a hidden agenda and are trying to push their sexual agendas into the American family’s lives while boosting their ratings from a rather large community that may not have tuned in otherwise.
Producers and casting agents insist that Bono was chosen because he is a great guy that comes from a long line of Hollywood royalty and has a very unique story, it has nothing to do with trying to push his sexual preferences onto anyone and the show remains geared for families and children of all ages. The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation has praised CBS for being so brave and casting someone with the history and background of Chaz Bono and hope that his appearance on the show will impact Americans in helping them to understand the transgender community a little better.
